We get defensive when we’ve lost touch with the reality that we can say no.

Don’t we all know what it feels like to be defensive? When we defend ourselves, we’re protecting ourselves. So, most of the time when we get defensive, we feel as if we’re being assaulted, but the threat may actually be coming from inside of us. We get defensive for many reasons — we’re being abandoned, we’re being controlled or we’re feeling inferior. And the way we overcome those instances is by getting in touch with our boundaries and learning how to use our “no” muscle. We don’t have to live our lives in a state of defensiveness. You can control the outcome of those situations, and I’m going to show you how to do that.
