Growth Mindset

When you think about how you want to grow in your life, I want you to think about something: How do you interpret your ability to do something? Do you think that it’s fixed and can never be changed, or do you interpret it as a state today that can change in the future? There is a gap between failure and our ability to see whether or not we can learn to grow past an obstacle, and it has everything to do with the tone of our inner voice. What does your internal dialogue sound like? Is it negative? Are you included to shame yourself? It’s one thing to coach yourself through something difficult, but it’s another to judge or condemn yourself.

Boundaries in Relationships

Relationships provide the essence of thriving, both for ourselves personally and professionally. But, not just any kind of relationship will do. The relationships that provide fulfillment to us have certain components to them.

The Wake of Influence

In this course, Dr. Henry Cloud walks you through the concept of “the wake.” In short, a wake is a force that leaves behind the experience of two things — results and relationships. What does your influence leave behind on a relationship? Ultimately, the wake doesn’t like, and it doesn’t care about excuses. It is what it is. No matter what we try to do to explain why, or justify what the wake is, it still remains. It’s what we leave behind, and is the result of our record.

Feel Like Going in a Different Direction?

Imposter Syndrome

When we talk about imposter syndrome, there’s a disconnect between what the outside world is seeing and how we feel about ourselves on the inside, and that disconnect comes from an internal dialogue that projects shame and anxiety. But when we get trapped in negative, automatic thoughts that pollute our minds, we can embrace the process and overcome the patterns that make us feel stuck.

Anxiety

What do you think about when you hear “anxiety”? Most people would think it is something to be avoided as it is usually an unpleasant feeling. However, anxiety is a part of our everyday lives to some degree or another. Anxiety enters when we begin to feel overwhelmed and under-resourced by some aspect of life. Though we most often think of it as something negative, there can be some positive benefits to it as well. In this course, Dr. Henry Cloud helps give you a deeper understanding of anxiety, its causes and what you can do to help yourself.
